Every Woman 2018 letter
Jun. 11th, 2018 12:05 pmHello, and thanks for checking out my letter!
riiiied on AO3 here. These prompts are just examples of what I'd like to see with these characters, so if you have any other ideas that don't contradict DNWs, feel free to go for it!
General likes: Character studies, getting to know each other, friendly rivalry, missing scenes, outsider POV, canon divergent AU, non-mundane AU
General DNWs: F->M genderswaps, unrequested crossover/fusions, unrequested non-canon background pairing, mundane AU for fantasy canons
Fandoms:
A Place Further Than the Universe
Kobuchizawa Shirase & Miyake Hinata: I find their interactions in both episodes that focus on their relationship really interesting, especially Hinata's hidden issues under her cheerful personality and how Shirase wants to help in her own slightly awkward but actually effective way. More tiny glimpses into their other interactions during the Antarctic trip would be great, especially if it's filled with friendly ribbing, as would a post-series look on where they go afterwards - do they aim for the same goal again? I'd also be interested in these two as a romantic relationship - would understanding more about each others' troubles & demons lead them to discover more-than-friendly feelings?
Kobuchizawa Shirase & Kobuchizawa Takako & Toudou Gin: I'd definitely love to see more of what life was like for the three of when Takako was still around. What does Takako feel looking at Gin (trying to) taking care of Shirase? Do they often hang around/go out with all the three of them? I'm also good with something set post-series - how do Shirase & Gin go forward with carrying Takako's memories & legacy? I'm interested in both Takako/Gin and future Gin/Shirase, so feel free to incorporate either of those - does Takako leaving Shirase with Gin so much have to do with their own relationship, which they might need to hide? Or maybe Shirase & Gin start seeing too much of Takako in each other and that leads to some mixed & complicated feelings (bonus for a lot of guilt on Gin's part).
The House in Fata Morgana
(I've finished all of the first VN, A Requiem for Innocence, Reincarnation from the Collected Edition, and all the side games, although you don't have to incorporate all of those)
Giselle: How was her life back when she was still with her mother & sister? When working at the Bollinger household, did she interact with the other Bollinger brothers or Aimee? As the Maid, how does the people in the house throughout the years (especially non-major characters, like other servants or visitors) perceive her? In the times when the mansion doesn't exist in the corporeal world, how does she interact with the other trapped souls, if ever? What was really happening with her when Morgana took her away and Michel had to look for the keys? In the present day, I'd be interested in seeing how having such an extensive memory of her past life have affected her current daily life.
Morgana: Another look on her life back at the brothel, especially how she gradually shed her prejudices against the girls there. Exactly how much had she thought about what she wanted to do if she were able to leave the place when she was older? More on how the White-Haired Girl came about during her captive days in the tower, and the conversations she had with "herself". How was "life" for her between her death and Michel's arrival? What about her "life" as a witch, both when the mansion is back in the corporeal world to carry her curse or during the times in-between? What else did she do with The Maid during those long times waiting?
Pauline Asama: During her first life, how was her childhood at the orphanage? How did other people at her first church view her sometimes excessive generosity? She had other dreams beyond what she could aim for as a nun - did she ever actually plan how she might have achieved them, however unlikely? During her second life, how did she usually spend her days back home? I ship her with Yukimasa so something with him is more than fine as well - in the first two lifetimes, did she ever feel that something was "off" about him, and did she do anything about it? How exactly did he see her, beyond being his tether? Post-Reincarnation,
Maria Campanella: In her first life, just how much trouble did she have at the orphanage? How did she help with building up the brothel to become what it was like at the beginning of Requiem, and how do the other girls throughout the year view her? How did her interactions with Morgana change during the time she was there? Seeing how she learned to read & write as she worked there would be interesting, as also her developing a hobby for collecting knives. For her second life, what was it like for her growing up in a mafia family? At the mansion, how does she interact with the other servants (The Maid included) - just how privy are they to her true intentions?
Ceren: I find her brand of cray utterly fascinating and would definitely love to see more of how other people perceive her broken understanding of sadness & empathy, a la the intermission in Requiem. Something about what she thought about learning "proper" reactions to other people and to fake sadness & empathy would also be interesting. What did other slaves/servants/people at the Lord's mansion think of her? Did anyone at Maria's brothel ever get a glimpse of the "off" side of her? If she were to get reincarnated in the modern era, how would she live with this "eccentricity" of hers and how do people react to her this time around?
fault
(I've read everything up to milestone two side: above)
As a general prompt for this fandom, I'd love to see something for any (or all) of these three that glimpses into their travels, be it something light-hearted or a bit heavier (something h/c-ish would be sweet).
Selphine Rughzenhaide: I find the Path-Down mechanic to be interesting and would love to see more of how she deals with that, both at the beginning, during the time of the story, or in the future when the process is close to being completed. Does she ever get Empress Syndrome with her other ancestors? How would things change when she finally becomes queen and how would she rule? While she's discouraged from using much manakravte, it'd be interesting to see more of her relationship with magic as well.
Ritona Reighnvhasta: There's StP coming up wich will show her early days as part of the royal guard, but I'd love to see something that explores that even for now, especially her relationships with the "old crew". How did her mastery of manakravte develop? How did her relationship with Selphine change through time? Would her role change when Selphine finally ascends the throne? In a bad end scenario were Selphine is felled by the hands of the enemy, how would she proceed?
Rune Zhevitz: I'd really love to see more of how her magic-robotic body actually works. For example, since she's powered by mana, does she get anything equivalent to mana shocks/deprivation like humans? Could she ever learn to do manakravte? How much of her old self's blood lust is in her - is it something she has to explicitly repress, and does it ever get uncontrollable? And while she doesn't have the permissions to shut down her emotional processes, what would happen if someone else does?
Kindred Spirits on the Roof
(I've completed the game 100% and listened to all of the drama CDs)
Ano Fuji: How did she deal with her sixth sense growing up, and what were her other experiences with the supernatural like? Would she come to disclose it to even more people besides Yuna? Would be interesting to see more of her nerdy exploits, e.g. going to Comiket or hanging around with the manga club & going to their Shiroket. Does she get more problems with unwanted admirers down the line, and does she get an actual girlfriend later? (I'm partial to Ano/Nena but would also be interested in other pairings or even original character pairings)
Miyama Nena: More on her friendship with Umi & Sasa - what do others think of this seemingly mismatched trio? How is college life for the three of them? What will happen on their Hawaii trip? How would their friendship be like once they hit adulthood? What's Tamachi really like & how does Nena really deal with her? She's surprisingly perceptive for someone who looks so sleepy all the time - did she ever notice the other couples at Shirojo? Is she any interested in getting a girlfriend for herself? (Similar pairing preferences to above)
Ariu Aki & Koba Youka: A seemingly unlikely pair, but they work so well (and adorably) together. Would definitely love to see more of them getting into each others' interests - does Aki really get into learning to play the guitar? How does she think of Youka's bandmates? What about Youka trying to get into Aki's hobbies? What's Youka's "dark past" reallly like, and what would Aki think about it if she finds out about it? Does Aki have something similar she'd rather hide from Youka as well? Would be interesting to see how they'd fight as well - just what would get them to really get angry at each other, and how do they make up afterwards?
