miried | Dear Yuletide Writer 2016

Hello, and thank you for reading this letter! If you're reading this, I assume you're offering or otherwise interested in writing for some of the fandoms and characters I requested, which I'm grateful and excited for! A few general notes of my requests:

- My general likes include character studies, found families, friendly rivalry, friends-to-lovers, and missing scene-type fics, among others. I'm also down for non-mundane and canon divergent AUs.
- I don't have many hard dislikes, although I'm not big on crossovers. I also would rather not see infidelity and jealousy treated positively (although I'm fine with them portrayed as a clear flaw).
- These prompts are just guidelines in case you need some inspiration. If you have a completely different idea you're dying to write that don't contradict any stated DNWs, feel free to knock yourself out and write that instead!

Flying Witch
Characters: Any

(Disclaimer: I'm only familiar with the anime)

This show was such a delight, I enjoyed it far more than expected. I like the blend of laid-back small town life and magical elements, how the non-witch characters slowly grow accustomed to fantastic things happening around them, the nice touches of humour that never get too much, just relaxing and delightful all around. I'd love to see almost anything for this series, really - the only DNWs I can think of are NSFW stuff involving Chinatsu or the animal companions.

-Something in the vein of the show itself would be awesome. I'll always be up for more of the witches showing their non-witch friends more new magical things - new spells? Other magical creatures? Visiting other magical places a la the cafe?
-Chinatsu's magical training! What would it look like if Chinatsu's training to be a witch started in all seriousness? How would it differ from someone who was a witch by lineage? If you take this to the long term, does she ever think about changing her mind as she grows?
-I'm not opposed to something less light-hearted, either. For example, Makoto said that only relatives were supposed to know of her witch status, yet she inadvertently told Nao - would there be any consequences? Or maybe what was supposed to be a harmless magical prank by Akane went completely wrong. That being said, I'd prefer if it doesn't devolve into 100% grimdark.
-If you'd like to write something more shippy/porny, I'd be down for some Akane/Inukai. Has anything happened between them during previous drunken outings? Maybe a potion made by Akane that she claimed would cure Inukai's condition turns out to have other effects, intended or not. In general, Akane being her free-spirited self and Inukai looking at that with a mix of exasperation and fondness.

91 Days
Characters: Angelo Lagusa | Avilio Bruno, Corteo

Troubled best friends who nonetheless care for each other are my jam, and these two totally deliver on that front - there's how Avilio still genuinely cares about Corteo even as he grows more ruthless in his quest for revenge, and how Corteo was never enticed into dealing with the mafia for profits but would do it for Avilio. I ship them pretty damn hard, but I also love their friendship and would be interested in either take on the relationship. (As a note, I'm totally fine with smut and dark fic for this canon.)

-There are a lot of possibilities for missing scene fics here. Some errands they have to run for the Vanettis? The downtime between those? Presumably there may had been meetings or some other kind of communication before the escape to Chicago. Last but not least, more on them trying at having an idyllic life during that last excursion, but not really (bed sharing and/or smut would be an absolute plus).
-I'd love to see some canon divergence as well. What if instead of returning to Lawless, Avilio takes Corteo on the run from Chicago? I don't expect them to be able to evade detection forever, but how far could they take it? What if Avilio didn't kill Corteo - I assume neither of them would be surviving long that way, but it'd be interesting to see how things play out for a while. Going way back, what if the rest of the Lagusas hadn't been murdered? Supposedly Angelo would still become part of the mafia, though through a different road - how does Corteo deal with his hatred of the mafia in this case?

Ensemble Stars!
Characters: Morisawa Chiaki, Shinkai Kanata

Ryuuseitai in general is my favourite unit from the game, but if I had to pick my favourite relationship from within them, it'd have to be these two. They're sort of eccentrics in different ways - Chiaki and his utmost hot-bloodedness, Kanata and his whole water/sea-related shtick - yet they're so sweet together. Suffice to say, I do ship them, though I'm also fond of a more found family-like take as well.

-I'd love to see a take on their initial interactions and/or their early days as Ryuuseitai members. Did it come on the heels of Eichi/finé crushing the Oddballs? How did they manage to get close anyway?
-It'd be interesting to see them trying each others' hobbies. Trading Kanata's plushies with Chiaki's action figures. Or movie nights with tokusatsu movies followed by marine documentaries. Add the rest of Ryuuseitai as well if you want, or have it the other way around - I can easily see Chiaki trying to bond over Tetora's "manly man" ambitions or Shinobu's ninja stuff, and maybe Midori and Kanata can coo over some fish-themed mascot character.
-As far as non-mundane AUs go, maybe something with Kanata actually being not (fully) human? Maybe he actually is unable to go extended periods without soaking himself in water. It may also explain why so much is unknown about his family - what if it's because he doesn't actually have a human-like family unit to belong to?
